My team is moving from original web scrapers to search/web APIs and we are currently looking for a solid provider… tavily, exa, firecrawl, linkup?
Why: “looking for”
Track your brand and keywords across Reddit, Hacker News, Bluesky, YouTube, Threads, GitHub and the web. Each mention lands as buying intent, bug report, question, praise or competitor, and the ones that need you reach your inbox first.
From $7.99/month. Cancel anytime.
Social media listening in three steps. There is nothing to install and no query syntax to learn.
We read your homepage and suggest what to watch: your brand, your domain, your product names and the rivals people compare you with. Keep the ones you want, add your own, and list words to ignore.
Before you pay, we run your words against the last seven days and show you what we would have caught, so you can tune them on real posts instead of guessing.
New mentions arrive in one feed, sorted by kind. People asking for a tool, reporting a bug or asking a question reach your inbox straight away; the rest wait in a daily email.
Most people who talk about a product never tag it. They write its name, a misspelling, or its website address in a reply three levels down. Brand mention monitoring means searching for those words, not waiting for a notification, and that is all SnoopScan does: every public post that uses your words, wherever it sits in the thread.
Reddit is where people ask strangers what to buy, so it is the first place to watch. SnoopScan checks it every 15 minutes on Starter and every 5 minutes on Pro, and the same keyword alerts cover Hacker News, Bluesky, YouTube, Threads and the web, so one list of words watches everywhere at once.
We watched one word, “firecrawl” (a company in our own market), on Reddit, Hacker News, Bluesky, YouTube and Threads for the seven days to 18 October 2026, through SnoopScan itself. It found 34 posts: 21 on Reddit, 6 on Bluesky, 4 on Hacker News, 2 on YouTube and 1 on Threads. Six of them are below, shortened, without usernames.

Seven places, all public, all checked on the same schedule. X and LinkedIn are not on the list: their posts cannot be read without signing in, and we do not pretend otherwise.
New posts across every subreddit, searched by your words.
Stories and comments, matched on the whole word.
Public posts as they are published.
New videos whose title or description names you.
Public posts that use your keywords.
Issues and pull requests that name you or your rivals.
Blogs, forums and news pages that mention you.
The complaint everyone has about mention alerts is noise: hundreds of posts that use your word and want nothing from you. Social listening is the step after the alert, reading the mentions for what people actually want. SnoopScan does that first pass for you, so the feed opens on the posts worth your time.
| Kind of mention | The words that sort it | What you do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Buying intent | “looking for”, “alternative to”, “can anyone recommend” | Reply first and win the customer. |
| Bug report | “broken”, “doesn’t work”, “getting an error” | Fix it before the thread grows. |
| Question | “how do I”, “does anyone know”, “is it possible” | Answer where people are asking. |
| Praise | “I love”, “saved me”, “works great” | Save it as a testimonial. |
| Competitor | a rival’s name you added | Hear what their users complain about. |
Every sorted mention carries the phrase that put it there, so you can see at a glance why a post landed under “Buying intent” and trust the rest of the feed. Add your own words to any kind, or mark a post “not relevant” and move on. Excluded words, like “hiring” for a brand that is also a job title, keep whole threads out of your feed.
One feed, read differently by each team. Founders watch for buyers, support watches for bugs, marketing watches for praise, and product watches what people keep asking for.
Every week someone on Reddit writes “looking for a tool that…” in your category. The first helpful reply usually wins the thread, and the thread keeps ranking in search for years. Watch your category’s words, not only your name, and the “Buying intent” view becomes a list of warm leads.
Add a rival’s name and its users’ complaints arrive with yours: the missing feature, the price rise, the outage nobody answered. People asking for an alternative to a competitor are the easiest customers you will ever get.
Users post a broken checkout on Hacker News before they email support. A bug report reaches your inbox within minutes, with a link to the comment, so you can reply where it was posted and fix it before the thread grows.
Kind words get posted once and scroll away. Every “saved me hours” lands under Praise, ready to ask the author for permission and put on your homepage, in a deck or in a reply to a doubter.
Questions and wishes add up. When the same “does it do…?” appears four times in a month, that is your roadmap telling you something, in your customers’ own words.
A YouTube review or a blog post that names you is a moment to say thank you, correct a mistake or offer a deal to its audience. Knowing the same day is the difference between a partnership and a missed chance.
A mention is any public post, comment, video or page that uses one of your keywords as a whole word. “Snoop” does not match “snooping”, and capital letters do not matter. The same post seen twice is shown once, and a post that also uses one of your excluded words is left out entirely. You can add several spellings of the same name, and each keyword can be marked as yours or as a competitor’s, so the feed knows which is which.
Everything the app does, your code can do. Create a watch with one request, read mentions with filters, and mark them done. A signed mention.created webhook fires the moment we find one, so your own tools or a Slack channel hear first.
Connect SnoopScan to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and ask “any new mentions today?” or “show me everyone looking for an alternative this week”. The API, webhooks and MCP tools come with every plan.

Both plans watch every source, sort every mention and include alerts, the API, webhooks and MCP. They differ in how many keywords you watch and how often we check.
Or $79 a year.
Start with StarterOr $190 a year.
Start with ProEntry prices as each company publishes them, read on 18 October 2026.

You see last week’s mentions for your words before you pay, so you buy a feed you have already checked.
Reddit, Hacker News, Bluesky, YouTube, Threads, GitHub, and blogs, forums and news across the web. X and LinkedIn are not included: their posts cannot be read without signing in.
We check every 15 minutes on Starter and every 5 minutes on Pro. Posts that want to buy, report a bug or ask a question reach your inbox as soon as we find them; everything else waits for one daily email if you choose it.
Keywords match as whole words, so “snoop” never matches “snooping”. You can list words to ignore, and every mention is sorted by the phrase around your keyword, with that phrase shown, so you can see at a glance why it landed where it did.
Yes. Before you start, we run your keywords against the last seven days and show you what we found, so you can adjust them on real posts.
Yes. Mark any keyword as a competitor and their mentions arrive in their own tab, including people asking for an alternative to them.
Any public post, comment, video or page that uses one of your keywords as a whole word. The same post found twice is shown once.
Google Alerts covers web pages and arrives hours or days later. SnoopScan watches Reddit, Hacker News, Bluesky, YouTube, Threads and GitHub as well as the web, checks every few minutes, and sorts each mention by what the person wants.
Yes, on both plans. Create watches and read mentions through the API, get a signed webhook the moment a mention is found, or connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and ask for your latest mentions.
No. Plans start at $7.99 a month for 20 keywords, and you see last week’s mentions for your keywords before you pay.
Yes. Cancel from Billing and the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.
Social listening is tracking what people say about your brand, your products and your competitors in public posts, then acting on it: replying, fixing, learning.
Monitoring catches each mention so you can respond to it. Listening looks across all of them for patterns: what people ask for, complain about or compare you with. SnoopScan does both.
Type your website, see last week’s mentions, and start monitoring from $7.99/month.
