Terms of service
Last updated 2 September 2026.
These terms cover your use of SnoopScan: the API, the members area, and the public tools on this site. By creating an account or using the API you agree to them.
The service
SnoopScan fetches web pages and documents on your instruction and returns their content as markdown, HTML, links, screenshots or structured data. We run the engine; you decide what it fetches. We do not review or vet the pages you request.
Accounts and teams
You are responsible for your account, your API keys and everything done with them. Keep keys private. A team account shares one balance of credits and one set of keys; the owner and admins can invite and remove members, and are responsible for what members do.
Credits and billing
Every plan is a monthly allowance of credits. What each request costs is published on the pricing page and shown in your activity log. Unused credits do not roll over; the allowance resets on the first of each month. A plan change takes effect the same day it is confirmed. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance and are non-refundable except where the law says otherwise.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service to break the law, to access systems you are not permitted to access, to collect personal data in breach of the laws that apply to you, or to overload a website. The engine respects robots rules and paces requests by default; do not use it to work around a site's explicit refusal. Rate limits apply per key and are there to protect other customers.
Support access
Our staff may sign in to your account to help with a support request. Every such session is recorded with the staff member's name, the reason, and its start and end time. It is limited to thirty minutes, is read-only, and shows a banner on every page while it runs. Staff cannot see your password or reveal your keys during it. You can ask us for the record of any such session.
Your data
Pages you fetch are cached briefly so repeat requests are free, then dropped. Your account details, keys (hashed), usage records and support conversations are kept for as long as you have an account. We do not sell your data and we do not use what you fetch for anything other than serving your request. The privacy policy has the detail.
Availability and changes
We aim for the service to be available and accurate, but it is provided as is. Websites change and block; a page that fetched yesterday may not fetch today, and that is not a fault we can promise to fix. We may change the service and these terms; material changes are announced by email and on the changelog before they take effect.
Ending things
You can delete your account from Settings at any time; every key stops working immediately and unused credits are not refunded. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
